Care in the autumn years

Ashurst LLP donate to Crisis Appeal

GGG had a lovely visit from one of our friends from Ashurst on Friday. Gillian Collins, the firm’s Corporate Responsibility Champion dropped in with donations from Ashurst that will be included in the essential packages being sent out to older adults each day.

Items donated included puzzle books which will help to stave off boredom and toiletries such as soap, hand sanitiser and shower gel. These items make a great difference to the older adults who receive them as they are unable to get to the supermarket to pick up these essentials themselves.

Gillian said:

“We are delighted to support Glasgow’s Golden Generation during Covid-19 by providing urgently needed items to the charity for distribution to their older members who are self-isolating”

Ashurst has been a great supporter of the charity over the past few years, with the firm selecting GGG as their charity of the year in 2018. Over the course of the year staff from Ashurst raised £10k through their fundraising efforts which included Kiltwalk, a ‘Zipslide Across the Clyde’ and a range of internal events.

Since then Ashurst has supported the charity with a weekly dementia friendly knitting group where staff from the firm visit the Fred Paton Day Centre to knit alongside service users. This has been a lovely initiative that has been much enjoyed by the centre’s service users and GGG can’t wait till it can start up again.

Thank you to everyone at Ashurst who continues to support the charity and think of ways to help. We didn’t even need to ask and you had already though of us – thank you!
